Manu was a long awaited puppy gained from
Lapinlumon Kennels in Finland. He is the puppy we
gained when we were unable to secure semen from his father
and a couple of other Orso-Farm males. He was the only male
in the litter. What a gorgeous baby he was too. |

Manu lived with Eeva and Reija at
Fidelis Kennels in Finland when Sarah went back
to Denmark. We thank them for doing the final flight
arrangements along with Angel's to enable him to come to
Australia. They both spent their quarantine in Sydney
arriving here the day that Taru and her babies were
collected from quarantine by Melissa Waters of
Watersedge Kennels. |
| When they arrived home with us Manu was able to begin
his showing career almost immediately. This was begun with
wins of a class in show at only his second weekend out.
Since that time he has achieved numerous Best in Group
awards, 3 Runner Up to Best In Show awards and
countless classes in group, show and reserve to Best In
Group.
To date he is the youngest to achieve this at only 3 1/2 with less than 2 1/2
years of showing and this not even constant.

Manu is the first Finnish Lapphund to
successfully attempt and complete his Endurance Test. This
means that he gaited for 20 kms over a period of time.
Medical checks are made at intervals of 8kms, 6kms and
completion. The vet making these checks was very impressed
by the way he showed no signs of stress or increase in
temperature. We were concerned as August in Qld is starting
to get warm and he was in next to full coat.
We will now begin to work on some basic obedience tasks
with him. |
Where do we go to now with Manu?
Perhaps we should try dancing........ check him out in the
show ring. He is my lovable clown!!!!!

We have found what he can do next...........
work with Junior Handlers in their competitions.
January 2009 - Here he is with Mellissa Watt, her
judge Wes Beckman from Sth Africa and the sponsor
Joyce Sefton. Wes will be representing RSA at Crufts
in 2009. He was happy to support our Junior handlers
by judging them at this event. |
