2008
July
This month sees us in Far North Queensland again as I am on long service leave. Results when we come home.
April, May & June
June 13th Enya has her babies through the night. She has presented us with ....so far..... 3 girls and 3 boys.
Boy, how slack have we been? Not too much on the front here though. We have earned a few ribbons over the past few weeks. More details will be on the results page.
Probably most important over this time is that Olli is now a champion. Cohan earned his as well. I thought he had it in the middle of April just to find out that he still needs one point and we haven't got him entered as he is hairless. So grow some hair fast and enter a show to gain that last challenge. This occurred on the 6th June.
We have just had 2 litters of poodles with 3 pups in each. Early June sees us waiting on Enya who is so close to whelping as well.
March
We had Glenda and Graeme visit from NZ this month and whilst Glenda was a tad unwell she did not leave us with any yukky gastro like we left them......... This month has seen both the siberian babies go to minor class and both starting to work well. diva seems to have her act together a little more than Cher at this stage. throughout this month we have had Manu win a couple of classes in group as well as a Reserve in group. Myah has taken several BCC's and regularly taking her class in group as well. Little Diva has won numerous Minor puppy in Groups and is yet to take her first show award. Tacked onto our show crew is Logan who is taking on several DCC and best of Breeds from the Puppy class, topping off with a couple of Puppy in Show awards to boot. his owners Justine and Sandra are thrilled with his small wins. To gain a better view of our wins please check our show results page.
Feb
No shows this months except for Clifton where Logan took puppy in Show. Manilla was visited by Col, winning 2nd in baby sweepstakes with Diva, Junior in Group with the very nervous Olli and Open in group with his mother Angel. What a shame though that a good weekend and lovely young show dog Olli, has been destroyed by a German Shepherd lacking control from its owner. Olli was attacked twice by a young shepherd whose owner then left the grounds before a hearing was heard. This will go further to the canine control.
Jan
Not much happening on this front through January. We did visit New Zealand for Christmas and the New Year and left Glenda & Graeme and nasty present of a dose of Gastro. SORRY GUYS. This was unintentional.
5th Jan Hannah gained her Australian Championship. Myah won State bred in Group at the Maryborough show.

9th December
Myah gained another Junior in group along with RUBOB. The baby girls Cher and Diva went out for their first shows. Wow what professionals they were too. They each had a turn of winning the baby of breed. We are so proud of the way that they held themselves, strutted and stood on stack like they had been doing it forever. Way to go Girls!
6th November
Hannah gained another Junior in group.
3rd & 4th November
Myah and Hannah each gained a Junior in group causing Col and I to go into the ring together with the dogs.
14th October
Both Ren and Cooper have gained their Australian championships.
8th October
Asa is sold and will leave for his new home at the end of October. In the meantime he will be desexed and will recover from the surgery with us.
30th September
Ollie wins a Best in Group at only 8 1/2 months of age.
27th September
Whilst travelling home from Melbourne we were informed of a tragic accident that has taken Solo to run Heavens fields. She lives on in her babies which she gave to us such a short time ago.
29th August
Solo gave birth to an unexpected litter of 5 kids.
31st August
Myah won 13 pt BCC and then BOB to give her her championship at just 1 year and 2 weeks of age. Myah wins BCC again on Sunday.
Ollie gained Minor Puppy in Group, Hannah gained Puppy in Group and Myah gained Junior in Group at both shows under Mrs Val Spence and Ms Diana Norman.
26th August
Manu and Styker left at 4.30am with Col, Bernie, myself and Imelda to do an Endurance Test with the boys. All was fine until Manu went to the loo, and we had to make up lost time for the pit-stop. Col thought he would do the makeup for me so Bernie took over Stryker who part way through decided that he would take his own course in the opposite direction and since he wanted to lead, he led Bernie a merry chase for many kilometres. Ouch the bum as we had no suspension on the seat. Ouch, Ouch, OUCH!!!!
Manu gained his Endurance Title whilst Stryker, I believe, is the first Siberian to have failed the official test but he did gain a certificate for doing more than he was required to without a medical check at mid way points.
August
Stop Press!!
Ollie not only took the best of breed but went on to win Opposite sex Puppy of group and then went to win Opposite Sex Puppy of SHOW!!!! This win has qualified him for the prestigious PUPPY OF THE YEAR competition.
This is a major win for the Lapphunds in Australia and we are proud that it was one of our Frozen puppies that was able to perform this fabulous feat.
Prior to this win on General Specials day we had been floating on air with a large bitch challenge win with our puppy siberian girl Myah. She was quickly overshadowed with the group win by Ollie.
Brisbane Royal time. We had a fabulous number of Finnish Lapphunds entered some 22! Amazingly our young man from the AI litter won Best of Breed and he is still 6 months old! Additionally his sister also won the Reserve bitch challenge. Our prospect Manu came off with no more than the reserve dog challenge. Asha who is still in our name and has been living with Barbara and Sarina in Western Australia for the past 10 months won the Bitch challenge. She is returning to WA to sleep on Sarina's bed.
July
We took a month of travelling around the top end of Queensland. With us came Manu, the 2 babies lappies, Hannah just into Minor Puppy, a puppy siberian and a couple of inexperienced poodles.
Wow! They blew us away with so many classes in group and show, around 40. This is nearly as many as the Lapphund community in Australia won in the whole of 2005.
Manu and Myah have both won Best In group awards. Manu, Myah, Cooper all taking Reserve in groups. Ollie, Hannah, Myah and Manu all winning classes in show. All the dogs we took won several classes in group along the way. Little Whisper having to beat her brother Ollie to get there. Then to top it off, just before we came home Manu won Reserve to Best in Show not once but TWICE!
2nd June
Fortune wins Baby in Show at the Siberian Husky Club Specialty NSW
Col & I welcome Jason and Sharon to our lappie family. They have decided to have Veli ( Theldaroy Dont U NV Me) join their growing family before the birth of their non furry child.
Welcome and enjoy your new furry child, we know you will not be disappointed in your breed choice.
